Requirement

The scope was a complete rental power supply on Dalma Island, offshore Abu Dhabi: generation, step-up transformation, bulk fuel storage, cabling and commissioning, delivered by one supplier.

Engineering considerations

On an island, everything that keeps the plant running arrives by sea. That puts fuel autonomy at the centre of the design: 68,000 litres of bulk storage were installed alongside the three generators. The plant output is stepped up through a 5 MVA transformer, which leaves headroom above the 3.75 MVA of installed generation.

Commissioning was carried out by a TAQA-approved engineer. See how synchronised modules share load and how fuel storage is sized.

Mobilisation

The containerised generators, transformer and fuel tanks were mobilised from SINTAQA's equipment yard in KIZAD, Abu Dhabi. Containerised 20 ft modules keep island logistics simple: each unit moves as one weatherproof package.

Outcome

The plant is in operation. Performance and commercial details are confidential to the client and are not published.
