What 1,250 kVA generators does SINTAQA rent?

Our rental fleet is built on one standard module: a new 1,250 kVA diesel generator with a Cummins KTA50-G3 engine and a Stamford alternator in a 20 ft sound-attenuated ISO container. Every unit can be set to 50 Hz or 60 Hz and has a synchronising controller, so the same module serves a single site supply or a multi-megawatt plant.

How much real power does a 1,250 kVA generator provide?

About 1,000 kW. A generator's kVA rating multiplied by the power factor gives real power, and diesel generator ratings are quoted at 0.8 power factor: 1,250 kVA × 0.8 = 1,000 kW. Usable capacity on a real project is lower than that figure, because the plant is sized to leave margin.

Illustrative. The usable figure for your site comes out of the load study, not from a fixed rule.

Loads with a low power factor (large induction motors, older equipment) draw more kVA for the same kW, so the kVA limit can be reached before the kW limit. The opposite problem also matters: running a diesel engine at light load for long periods is a typical engineering concern (higher fuel use per kWh and carbon build-up), so a plant should not be oversized either. Can 1,250 kVA generators operate in parallel?

Yes. Each module has a synchronising controller, so several units match voltage, frequency and phase, close onto a common bus and share load automatically. Adding a standby module gives N+1 redundancy: one unit can trip or stop for service without cutting supply.

How many 1,250 kVA modules does a project need?

Roughly one module per megawatt of load at full rating, more if the plant is planned with margin, plus one or two standby units for redundancy. The table shows indicative counts for common load sizes.

Indicative rental pricing: how much does a 1,250 kVA generator cost to rent?

Indicative UAE rental pricing for a 1,250 kVA generator is approximately AED 35,000 per month, with rates around AED 32,000 per month possible for longer-term projects such as 12+ month rentals. These are indicative averages, excluding fuel, not fixed tariffs.

Final pricing depends on project location, client requirements, daily operating hours, rental duration, redundancy, generator configuration, mobilisation, transformers, fuel equipment and storage, and the overall scope of supply. The minimum rental period is one month. Request a configured quotation for your project.

Fuel is usually the largest running cost. Guaranteed fuel consumption for SINTAQA 1,250 kVA units under the specified operating and load conditions is 0.21–0.25 kg/kWh (approximately 0.25–0.30 litres per kWh): between 25% and 100% of prime rating at 50 Hz, with the fuel specification and site conditions stated in the quotation. At a steady 750 kW, 24 hours a day, one module uses an estimated 4,700 litres per day. Actual total daily fuel volume depends on the actual electrical load, operating hours, load profile, ambient conditions, generator configuration and project operating conditions; daily estimates on this site use 0.25–0.27 L/kWh, the 50–100% load part of the guaranteed range. (Engine data: Cummins KTA50-G3 datasheet.) See the 1 MW rental cost guide for rates by capacity and redundancy.

1,250 kVA generator rental: FAQ

How many kW is a 1,250 kVA generator?

About 1,000 kW at the standard 0.8 power factor (1,250 × 0.8). In practice a plant is usually planned below full rating to leave margin for motor starts, load steps and hot ambient conditions; the margin comes from the project load study.

Can a 1,250 kVA generator run at 60 Hz?

Yes. Every unit in SINTAQA's rental fleet can be set to 50 Hz or 60 Hz at mobilisation. The voltage is set together with the frequency, and the output rating at 60 Hz is confirmed for the project.

How many 1,250 kVA generators do I need for 5 MW?

At least five running modules at full rating, or seven if the plant is planned at 80% loading (an illustrative planning assumption). Add one module for N+1 redundancy. The final count depends on the load profile, the largest motor start and site conditions.

Is fuel included in the rental?

No. Rental rates exclude fuel. We supply and size the bulk fuel tanks, transfer pumps and fuel lines, and coordinate deliveries with your fuel supplier.

What is the minimum rental period?

One month. Projects of 12 months or longer receive lower monthly rates.

Can the generators connect to an 11 kV network?

Yes, through step-up transformers and MV switchgear supplied as part of the plant. On Dalma Island, for example, three 1,250 kVA modules feed a 5 MVA step-up transformer.
